Continue reading →The first named invigilator was in trepidation mode for her first ‘on-line’ examination; would everything be as straight forward as the paper based exams? Yes. There was a slight hiccup at the beginning; she had forgotten where the PIN number was to be found and she had left her paperwork at home but Peter (2E0FGA) the second invigilator was more organised and had his copy with him so this was soon sorted and the exam began only to be followed shortly afterwards by the Model Railway people delivering equipment to their room; the wind was so strong the adjoining door … Continue reading →
Lincoln Short Wave Club is running an Intermediate Course starting on Saturday 17th February. The course will start at 12 noon each Saturday and will run for 4 weeks with the exam on Saturday 17th March at 2 p.m. If you are interested in joining the course please let me know; contact details on the ‘contact page’. You will need a copy of the Intermediate Licence book; unfortunately I haven’t any copies at the moment but they can be obtained from the RSGB.

Continue reading →August is a busy month so far for LSWC, last week it was Poacher 2017 and today we started a Foundation Course; tutors for the course are Les G1LQB and Ian G4EVK both also helped last week at Poacher 2017. Thanks also to Andy M0KED for being at the other end of the mike; Andy also had a day at Poacher and made contact with scouts from home on other days. We have four candidates on this course and the examination will be on Thursday 10th.
