Au Revoir Jeremie
A meeting tinged with a little sadness on Wednesday 15th August as we said goodbye to Jeremie F4ARU/MoKWP. Jeremie has been a member of the Club for three years or so.
We have benefited greatly from his enthusiasm and expertise. He has been unstinting with his time and advice as many a member can tell you.
His enthusiasm for field days and contesting has been infectious. It was mainly Jeremie and Roger, G3PVU who did the donkey work assembling the Club’s SteppIR antenna which sits on our mast at Aisthorpe.
As a mark of our thanks, we have awarded him Overseas Membership of the Club and presented him with a handsome certificate designed by Ian G4XFC.
Jeremie told the Club members how much he had appreciated their friendship during his time in UK He has made many lasting friendships.
He and his wife Caroline (who is also French) took the decision to move back to France with their son Thomas who is just reaching school age. He will be able to enter the school in France in the autumn.
He takes with him a momento of his time here. His trailer mast built by Alan Wiles, G4GDC of Wiles Tanks at Aisthorpe is already in Bordeaux and awaits its antennas and equipment. We are sure it won’t be long before we hear Jeremie booming through the pile-ups in VHF/UHF contests ( We hope that Europe have been warned that the big signal is coming back )
So we all wish the Simon family all the very best of luck in the future. Au Revoir et Bonne Chance.
