It is with much sadness that we hear of the passing of Club Chairman, Chris Jones – G0PIO. Chris passed away on the 23rd November 2012.

The members of Lincoln Short Wave Club send our condolences to Chris’s family.

Chris joined the Club when he moved to the area to take up a post with BBC Radio Lincolnshire in November 1980. Chris, then G6AJL, was Secretary of Lincoln Short Wave Club and was there to help with the first LINCOLN HAMFEST in 1981. Like others before him, Chris drifted away from the club but returned when we moved to our present QTH in Aisthrope in 2006. He became Chairman of the club in January 2011 and was on the organising committee for the National Hamfest.

Chris will be sadly missed by all at the Lincoln Short Wave Club and all who knew him. Chris’s sons Penri and Huw are using Chris’s Face Book account to keep everyone informed of the situation and it is also full of condolence messages.
