Day 5 of Activities at Poacher
People say Morse Code is old fashioned and no longer popular, if our experience at Poacher is anything to go by it is still very popular. After the talk on amateur radio from Les G1LQB, many of our visitors wanted to start their practical amateur radio experience with Morse and Andy M0IYE and Martin M0TNM were both kept busy demonstrating Morse and the Scouts and Guides enjoyed sending their names and other messages; doesn’t look like a dying art, like that larger, Morse can get through where other modes cannot!!
Barry G4DBS, Marc M7DEU, Graham M1DHV, Stuart 2E0SFK were also kept busy showing our visitors how to ‘tune the bands’ and find the required 25 stations. Marc, Stuart, Graham, David M6OYN were on hand to speak to scouts if amateurs from further afield weren’t available. Mary G7SWZ and Stephen M5SJM were in Lincoln and eager to talk to the scouts and guides.
A couple of the other activities.
This is Aaron, ask his name and he replies ‘Alpha, Alpha, Romeo, Oscar, November’.
