Lincolnshire Wolds Railway Talk

This week, we held a talk about the Lincolnshire Wolds Railway at Ludborough. The club will be at Ludborough for Railways on the Air at the end of September, using the call sign GB0LWR. This will be the final Special Event Station (SES) of the year that we have planned. We had a great turnout, and many questions were answered after the talk. Additionally, we live-streamed the event for the first time, which was a great success. We plan to invest in equipment so the club can stream more special events and talks in the future. National Hamfest 2025

This year, the national hamfest took place a few weeks earlier than last year. The club arrived in a convoy with all the equipment needed for the four-day event.-day event. Everything was set up promptly by around 1:00 PM. We had more campers this year, and we all pitched our tents near the tea tent. Les, G1LQB, went out to the car park to get everything ready for the visitors who were arriving on Friday and Saturday. 80th anniversary of Operation Manna at RAF Binbrook

We recently took part in operation Manna from RAF Binbrook at the gauard room in affiliation with His Church.We had a great few days operating GB8MAN from RAF Binbrook, with great support from the team who owns the site His Church. We had plenty of visitors on Saturday, with plenty of club members calling in to see what was happening. We had a good flow of the public nipping in to see what was going on in the army tent. 683 contacts have now been submitted to QRZ

RSGB FT4 24 Hour Activity Day

The Lincoln Short Wave Club members participated in the FT4 activity day at Fir Park Farm. We operated from the club’s NATO trailer, led by Les G1LQB, Marc M7DEU, Ian M7BKF, and David M6OYN.Despite challenging conditions, we persevered for the full 24 hours. We used a simple setup: a vertical multi-band antenna and one of the members’ Yaesu 710 radios.We managed to make 311 contacts, and the weather was surprisingly pleasant.
