It was with great sadness that we received the news of the sudden death of Mary Davy (G6SWZ) on Friday afternoon 13th March 2026. Mary had been quite poorly for some time but the treatment she had been receiving was progressing well of late and she had just taken back on the job of our Hon Secretary once again as she was feeling much better.  Mary had decided that due to her vulnerability to infection she would continue her valuable input by, for the time being, by working from home.  On 3rd March she published her first Club Newsletter, Committee Minutes & Calendar, since resuming the job.  Mary, like her late husband David, was not only a … Continue reading →

Used Equipment Sale

Update The Lincolnshire Show is on Wednesday, and the A15 between the A46 and the Caenby Corner roundabout is closed, but it is expected to reopen at 18:00. Its Time once again for the LSWC’s Used Equipment sale. Wednesday 17th June 2026 The Village Hall, Aisthorpe, Lincoln, LN12SG Booking in from 18:00, auction starts at 19:00. Food and refreshments will be available on site.

Equipment Maintenance

Last night Graham, M1DHV and Roger G3PVU completed some much needed repairs on the FT-1000MP MK5. For a short time now the radio has been without a display light rendering it unusable. Over 2 Wednesday evenings they took the radio apart to be able to source the correct parts. These were soon acquired and on the second evening the new LED strip was installed behind the display and radio reassembled. Well done guys. Another radio back in action. This now means in the shack we have the FT-DX10, TS530 and the FT-1000MP MK5 available for HF use.

Bacon Butty Morning

On Saturday the club hosted a bacon butty morning for all members kindly arranged by Marc M7DEU. As part of this event the members present were able to respond the members questionnaire which members can also complete online following the link sent in the email. While enjoying their butty’s those present gathered together to discuss the responses to the questionnaire that had been received so far. Fir Park August 2025

The Club have once again had a great time at FirPark over the August bank holiday weekend putting on a special event station for the whole three days. Setting up on Friday and Saturday morning was our Chairman, Les G1LQB, Activities Officer, Marc M7DEU, Phil M7OKV, Peter and Moo M0OOO. They were soon joined by Club Treasurer, Stephen M5SJM. Les, Marc camped over for the full event with Phil joining them for the Friday and Saturday Nights and Stephen joining them each day. Sadly Mary G6SWZ resigned as Secretary of the Club. When an Officer resigns the Club has to hold an EGM to elect a replacement, this will be held on Wednesday 30th July 2025 commencing at 19.30 in Aisthorpe Village Hall adjacent to our shack. Pamela Rose (G4STO). Silent Key – 25th September 1944 – 11th November 2024.  Pam has been a member of the club since the late 1970’s having joined with her late beloved husband Joe, who sadly died suddenly in 1992. Both of them loved the club and the hobby and Pam following his death, was determined to fulfil Joe’s wish by helping to keep the club on ‘an even keel’. This weekend 24th-27th the LSWC will be active with the Lincoln and Gainsborough Scouts at the Lost Village using the callsign GB0LV. The Scouts will be camping there over the weekend and LSWC Members will be allowing scouts to experience amateur radio throughout the weekend. The Lost Village is located in a secluded woodland near the village of Norton Disney, Lincolnshire. Please QSL via M1DHV by sending a stamped addressed envelope. His address is available on his QRZ.

Started by Tim G5TM and Richard M6KFI started as they just wanted to have some fun on 2m. Tim enjoyed times on 11m where they held nets on the air talking to many people joined in. With the falling popularity in 2m operation Tim decided to try and bring this to 2m by organising a number of nets across the country each run by voulenteers to the event.. Easter BBQ and a Thankyou

On Saturday 31st March the first BBQ of the year was held for all Members. It was very well organized by Steve M5ZZZ, Marc M7DEU and Pam G4STO. Marc Manned the BBQ along with Linda. Producing some excellent Burgers and Sausages. With Side salads, potatoes, onions, sauces andcheesecakes all available in the Village Hall. Pam organised the Easter Quiz which went down very well with the winning team going home with their prised Easter eggs.
