Continue reading →The pictures below show members of the club at their Christmas Dinner, this year at the Fox and Hounds, Willingham by Stow. Next year maps will be given out to ensure everyone finds the venue; unfortunately two of our members were within a couple of hundred yards but turned round and went home. More pictures to follow soon. From Steve M5XZZZs camera: From Peter 2E0FGAs camera

Weather was inclement (rained all morning) so we retreated to the Village Hall. Sorry about the quality of the photos. Help was at hand, Jackie preparing the rolls for the sausages. I suggested Haggis for our next event but a few noses turned up! I’ve read somewhere “Don’t fear the haggis. Just think of it as a big, round sausage. That’s what it is anyway.”
Continue reading →From this: To this!! On Saturday 14th October members of the club celebrated Lincolnshire Sausage Day by eating delicious Lincolnshire Sausages. It is UK Sausage Week from Monday 30th October to Sunday 5th November so there could well be another Sausage Event on Saturday 4th November. Sorry about the quality of the photos; tablet still.
Continue reading →Not two weeks in but August has been a very hectic time for several of us, Poacher, a Foundation course and exam and a sausage and burger afternoon. I think and hope this is the end of the extra activities for the time being although there is a provisional sausage and burger afternoon on 9th September which coincides with the Scampton Air Show; if you are interested please let me know. Despite conflicting start times today’s sausage and burger afternoon went well albeit numbers were down on previous events. Our caterer for the day (me) excelled herself by laying on … Continue reading →
Another almost successful sausage and burger night at the club; not sure what was wrong with the BBQ but it didn’t cook the sausages as they should have been cooked: perhaps it was the sausages, it certainly wasn’t the Head Cook for the night. Below are a few photos, also not the quality I had hoped. I think it was ‘Pistols at Dusk’ for the lads.
Continue reading →The pictures below show members of the club preparing the village hall for our Christmas Dinner which was held on 14th December. Thanks to Peter and Carolyn Kendal and Peter and Sue Gray who got the hall ready and Steve Burke who got the tree; you see, it doesn’t just happen by itself!!! Unfortunately the lights were turned off and it was too dark to take photos so I have no pictures of members that attended the dinner. Wisby Family Butchers from Wragby provided the outside catering.
Continue reading →On Wednesday 29th June 2016 I played golf in the pouring rain; when I got home there were messages on my answer machine – “I think it’s the sausage and burger night, is it still on?” “What contingency plans have you?” I was a little dismayed that these people had no faith in my ability to organise the weather; have I let you down in the past? No. I sent out an e-mail saying it was on and only two people decided to stay at home; even Dora turned out. I admit it wasn’t warm enough to sit outside but … Continue reading →
A date for your diary – on 29th June 2016 there will be a Sausage and Burger night at the club. The BBQ will be lit at around 1930 hours and food should be ready by 2000 hours. Everyone welcome but please see Pam and get your name on the list.
Continue reading →The pictures below show members of the club enjoying their Christmas Dinner, this year at the Carpenters Arms at Fiskerton. It should be noted for future events that our members rarely remember what they have ordered and reminders should be given to them on arrival at the venue. Thanks to Sue Gray for sorting this out.
