National Hamfest 2025
This year, the national hamfest took place a few weeks earlier than last year. The club arrived in a convoy with all the equipment needed for the four-day event.-day event.
Everything was set up promptly by around 1:00 PM. We had more campers this year, and we all pitched our tents near the tea tent. Les, with the callsign G1LQB, went out to the car park to get everything ready for the visitors who were arriving on Friday and Saturday.
On Thursday the members help the traders with the unloading of the vehicle’s when they arrived at the George Stephenson hall they also manned the gates and helped with security.
The day of the show soon arrived with the members doing various duties on site helping out wherever they could to make the show go ahead without any issues.
The members enjoyed our yearly trip to Newark for KFC they also had a fish and chips night with great atmosphere with while sitting around on the evenings
