The Club have once again had a great time at FirPark over the August bank holiday weekend putting on a special event station for the whole three days.

Setting up on Friday and Saturday morning was our Chairman, Les G1LQB, Activities Officer, Marc M7DEU, Phil M7OKV, Peter and Moo M0OOO. They were soon joined by Club Treasurer, Stephen M5SJM.

Les, Marc camped over for the full event with Phil joining them for the Friday and Saturday Nights and Stephen joining them each day.

Building on the Semi-Permanent setup the club has at FirPark the Army Tent was soon put up and the radios connected. The nicely kitted up portable equipment proving its worth having all the gear needed to run the station all weekend.

Running HF on 40-10m on both SSB and Data modes got a good number of contacts over the 3 days from all over the world. The VHF setup also getting in a nice number of local contacts as well.

Over the weekend we managed to make contacts into the US, Brazil and even over to Japan early on the Sunday morning.

We will be back at FirPark again next year once they have confirmed the dates for their next event which will most likely be early June. We hope to see you then.
