SATURDAY MORNING AT THE SHACK
A lot gets done on a Saturday morning at Lincoln Short Wave Club and this morning was no exception. I started my morning washing the chairs ready for the sausage and burger night on Wednesday and then got the BBQ out. Another week it could well be the start of the satellite project.

More Social Events was one suggestion in a recent survey at the club so Activity Officer Andy, G0FVI , compiled a General Knowledge Quiz. Unfortunately it was not as well supported as was hoped but those taking part had an enjoyable evening. The quiz wasn’t easy but we had a laugh and a packet of crisps if nothing else!!! The winner was our Chairman Steve, M5ZZZ and he didn’t have sight of the questions beforehand!! Sorry Steve isn’t in focus!!!!

This Wednesday, 27th, saw the LSWC host another BBQ night. These are usually well attended and enjoyed by our members. With Members arriving the BBQ was fired up and out came the burgers and sausages. We again must thank Pam, G4STO, for getting the food for the evening event and as always it was well enjoyed all round. I for one, was rather full up by the time all was eaten up. Continue reading →Another successful ‘Sausage Day’ at the Club
Fifteen of us enjoyed Cumberland, ‘Old English’ (not sure which county these were from) and Lincolnshire sausages as part of National Sausage Week. Weather was inclement (rained all morning) so we retreated to the Village Hall. Sorry about the quality of the photos. Help was at hand, Jackie preparing the rolls for the sausages. I suggested Haggis for our next event but a few noses turned up! I’ve read somewhere “Don’t fear the haggis. Just think of it as a big, round sausage. That’s what it is anyway.”

From this: To this!! On Saturday 14th October members of the club celebrated Lincolnshire Sausage Day by eating delicious Lincolnshire Sausages. It is UK Sausage Week from Monday 30th October to Sunday 5th November so there could well be another Sausage Event on Saturday 4th November. Sorry about the quality of the photos; tablet still.
