Exam Success at the Club

A big CONGRATULATIONS!! from all at the Club to: Theresa Freestone M7LMW, Steve Freestone M7LEW, Steve Skelton M7BBQ, Marie Grossmith M7PXT who all passed their Intermediate Exam today at the Club. Many thanks to the training guys, Les G1LQB, Peter 2E0FGA and Martin M0TNM for all their hard work and giving up their time in running the Courses and Exams for the Club.

Upcoming Foundation and Intermediate Courses

At Lincoln Shortwave Club we are running a foundation course and exam on Saturday the 19th of March and Saturday the 26th of March. In addition to preparing for the exam that will be sat at the club in the afternoon of the 26th this will also be a practical course. With contacts being made on HF and VHF from the club station, an introduction to digital modes, antenna construction and tuning using SWR meters and antenna analysers and so on. FOUNDATION EXAMINATION SUCCESS

What can go wrong on a cold and wet October afternoon; the heating in the village hall?  It didn’t really go wrong but I couldn’t get it working; luckily with trial and error Les and Peter got it sorted in time for the exam to begin so we didn’t have to sit in hats and coats. Today was our first attempt at the new syllabus and below are the successful candidates – left Chris and right Richard.

Another Foundation Course

The LSWC are running another of their popular Foundation courses. The course is being run by our trainer, Les G1LQB, on Saturday’s 20th and 27th of July, with the exam at 4pm on the 27th. Cost is £45 which includes the exam fee. This price also includes 6 months membership to the LSWC. This will allow you to take part in any of the events we have planned during that time. Foundation Course

Lincoln Short Wave Club is running a Foundation Course on Saturday and Sunday 4th and 5th May with the examination on Sunday 5th May at 1800 hours. Intermediate Examination Success

The first course of 2019 ended successfully with six candidates passing their Intermediate Examination on Saturday 23rd March.         The ‘Practical’ Workshop   The successful candidates Tom M6TQB, Andy M6OYQ, Arthur M6LYK, Lee M6RCI, Sam M3HKU and  Eddy M3HME. Foundation Exam

After the excitement of our aborted foundation exam on the 28th July everything went almost smoothly this morning; the taxi didn’t turn up for Lyon and Liz and they had to get a lift from a neighbour, they arrived at the village hall at 11 minutes to 10 with the exam starting at 10!!
