At Lincoln Shortwave Club we are running a foundation course and exam on Saturday the 19th of March and Saturday the 26th of March.
In addition to preparing for the exam that will be sat at the club in the afternoon of the 26th this will also be a practical course.
With contacts being made on HF and VHF from the club station, an introduction to digital modes, antenna construction and tuning using SWR meters and antenna analysers and so on.
The cost of the course is £45 to include 6 months membership of the club, that allows use of the club station at our Lincoln site and the Lincolnshire aviation heritage centre and to be able operate at club special event Stations.
If you don’t have a course work book one can be provided for an extra £5.99.
If anyone has any special requirements, or have zero background knowledge one to one help can be provided.
Shortly after the foundation course our trainer Les G1LQB will also run an intermediate course.
This will be over 3 days to be confirmed depending on demand. Again in addition to prep for the theory exam a heavy emphasis will be put on practical work with circuits, components, the use of test meters and building an electronic project.
With the exam held at the club on the last afternoon. For more information please contact us using the contact form on the website or at LSWC.ACTIVITIES@outlook.com
