Proposed Foundation Course and Exam

The Club is hoping to run another Foundation Course in February. This course will take place on Saturdays and Sundays 14th/15th and 21st/22nd February with the examination taking place on Sunday 1st March. If you would like to join this course then please contact Pam Rose G4STO, LSWC Secretary via the contact tag above. It is hoped to sort paperwork out for the course at the shack on Saturday morning 7th February.

Presentation of Awards

Patrick G0OSO accepting the G6COL Shield which was awarded to Tom 2E0TMO for Best Achievement in Amateur Radio; Tom took and passed both the Foundation and Intermediate Exams in 2014. Alan M0XVR receiving the Joe Rose Memorial Shield which he won jointly with Ian G4EVK for their entries in the Construction Contest in November.

Surplus Equipment Sale

Surplus Equipment Sale

There will be a Surplus Equipment Sale on Wednesday 29th October 2014 in the BSA Village Hall, Aisthrope, LN1 2SG. The photos below show a few of the items being sold and some of the visitors to the surplus equipment sale in April this year.          Booking in will commence at 1900 hours with the sale starting at 2015 hours.

Heckington Windmill

A few members of the club (2E0LOT, M0KWM, M5ZZZ and G4XFC, spent Saturday and Sunday putting on a special event station at Heckington Mill.Heckington Windmill is the only 8-sailed tower windmill still standing in the UK with its sails intact. It was built in 1830 to plans by millwright Edward Ingeldew and has six storeys called “floors”: ground floor, meal floor, stone (stage) floor, lower bin floor, upper bin floor (hoist floor), dust or cap floor.   Photos ‘stolen’ from the Club’s Facebook page.
