Today was the start of activities for the Scouts and Guides at Poacher, we had about three dozen showing an interest in amateur radio. Les G1LQB, briefly explained our hobby to our visitors and Andy M0IYE demonstrated CW and Scouts and Guides then had a go at sending their name in Morse code, this was followed by sending ‘greetings’ messages with Andy M0KED, Barry G4DBS and Graham M1DHV. The Scouts and Guides then had the opportunity to ‘tune the bands’ to get 25 different radio stations. Steve M5ZZZ, Marc M7DEU and Stuart 2E0SFK were also on hand to fill in any gaps. Pam G4STO was there but didn’t do a great deal!!!
