RSGB FT4 24 Hour Activity Day

The Lincoln Short Wave Club members participated in the FT4 activity day at Fir Park Farm. We operated from the club’s NATO trailer, led by Les G1LQB, Marc M7DEU, Ian M7BKF, and David M6OYN.Despite challenging conditions, we persevered for the full 24 hours. We used a simple setup: a vertical multi-band antenna and one of the members’ Yaesu 710 radios.We managed to make 311 contacts, and the weather was surprisingly pleasant. Saturday morning at the shack

Once again I got to the shack when the work was done, well the shed roof sealing was finished.  Daron 2E0GFY can’t make it to the club next Saturday when some LSWC members are having a morning on the lawn setting up and working with their portable equipment so he brought his set-up to the club this morning.  David M7OYN worked his first HF station using Daron’s equipment.

Boultham Park Summer Fair 2018

This weekend was the Boultham Park Summer Fair and the LSWC was there as usual with a demonstration station. G5FZ/P out portable… again? Yes it is.   With equipment being collected during the week, Les G1LQB, Steve M5ZZZ, Ian G4EVK, Barry G4DBS, Tom G4OSB, Fred G4HNQ, Peter 2E0FGA, Roger G3PVU & Jackie were on site early Saturday morning. Soon Stephen 2E0SSM arrived to help during the day closely followed by Peter, M0EJL and Pam, G4STO with the tables and radios. All then helped in getting the station set up before the Public arrived.
