GB2CWP East Kirkby

Lincoln Shortwave Club Posted on 04/06/2012 by G4XFC05/06/2012

As I was traveling to the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre early this morning, looking up at the dark cloudy sky, I though of yesterday with all the rain. I thought to myself we were in for another wet day, I was wrong as it turned out very sunny and it was a pleasure to be there. We kept our operation restricted to the 40mtr band but as our operational 1154/1155 in the Radio Room is crystal controlled and the limited frequencies it had were being used, so we had to use the more modern equipment we have there. Although the … Continue reading →

I thought it might be of interest to the newer club Members as Terry does pop up in conversation and they may not know who he is. Terry was a previous Chairman of the Lincoln Short Wave Club, and although  he now lives in Spain,  he is still an avid follower of the Club activities. Jubilee Bar-be-cue

Lincoln Shortwave Club Posted on 02/06/2012 by G4STO27/10/2022

It was disappointing only a few members could make it to our ‘posh’ bar-be-cue today, perhaps the ‘posh’ bit put folk off but it was only posh because we had salads followed by creamy puddings; I think 500 calories a slice!  Everyone present seemed to enjoy themselves although Steve didn’t do a very good job at organising the weather, dry but cool; I felt Pam did an excellent job with the food, as usual she was worried in case there wasn’t enough to go around but also as usual, she over catered!!   The Special Event station GQ5FZ was enjoyed by … Continue reading →

The Lincoln Short Wave Club Special Event station GB2CWP at the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre in East Kirkby will be active between 1000hrs and 1600hrs on Monday the 4th of June. We will be operating on all bands using CW and SSB, the T1154/R1155 is limited to only 3 frequencies on 40mtrs CW and will only be used if conditions allow on the 40mtr band. We will be using the more modern equipment on all the other bands.

Were Back Online :O)

Lincoln Shortwave Club Posted on 29/05/2012 by G4XFC27/10/2022

Thank you for you patience and now trying to build up the new website as quickly as possible. There was a rogue script that was backing up the website every 2.5 minutes which made it impossible to access the back-end of the website to sort it out. Because of this problem the website was switched off and it was decided that it would be easier and quicker to delete the website which would include the rogue script and start again from scratch. As we now know the cause of the problem (fingers crossed) it should not happen again. Because this … Continue reading →
