National Hamfest 2025

This year, the national hamfest took place a few weeks earlier than last year. The club arrived in a convoy with all the equipment needed for the four-day event.-day event. Everything was set up promptly by around 1:00 PM. We had more campers this year, and we all pitched our tents near the tea tent. Les, G1LQB, went out to the car park to get everything ready for the visitors who were arriving on Friday and Saturday. Hamfest 2022

As many of you will know we have just had the National Hamfest 2022 and as one of the contributing clubs we had members there as part of the the volunteering team. But this year we had an addition to what we normally do. This year we had a dedicated club stall to promote the club to other radio amateurs. The National Hamfest

The National Hamfest is taking place on Friday 30th September – Saturday 1st October. Gates open at 7:30am for Flea Market Setup and 9:30am for the public. The George Stephenson Hall opens at 10am. On Wednesday 28th September members from local clubs helped set out tables in the hall (in record time) in readiness for the exhibitors arriving on Thursday 29th September.   The Bring and Buy Marquee

National Hamfest Get-together

Members of Lincoln Short Wave Club were delighted that members of the Grantham, RAF Waddington, and Spalding Amateur Radio Clubs were able to join them on Saturday 21st May for a bite to eat and for LSWC to say ‘thank you’ for the support given by their members at the National Hamfest each year.  An enjoyable afternoon was had by all. It is hoped that this will be a fixture in the club’s calendar for many years to come.                       Dora relaxing after a hard morning.

The National Hamfest is fast approaching and you will see from the photo below that the Lincoln Short Wave Club is no newcomer to organising Hamfests. This was taken at the Hamfest in 1953 which was held at the Technical College, Monks Road, Lincoln.
