Today I fitted leaf guards to the downpipes.  When I cleaned the gutters out a couple of weeks ago there was about a foot of composted leaves blocking the pipes. Andy M0IYE and Les G1LQB measured the shack and paint was then ordered; it should be awaiting painters next time we are at the shack. Roger G3PVU was busy sorting boxes of valves ready for our next surplus equipment sale hopefully at the end of October. When I arrived at the shack this morning Stuart M7RSF and Les G1LQB were already there; Andy M0IYE arrived soon after for the briefing!! Once Steve M5ZZZ arrived with the brushes we were able to get on with the painting and managed to give both sides of the fence separating the shack and car park a first coat; next week it will be the east fence and probably a second coat on the west fence.   I said ‘we’ I didn’t actually wield a brush; I was Safety Officer, photographer, tea girl and cook this week.

Andy M0IYE and Steve M5ZZZ were hard at work washing down the shack ready for a coat of paint when I arrived this morning.  It is intended to have working parties every Saturday morning, weather permitting, until the work is done.  Why not get your working clobber on and join the party?
