We recently took part in operation Manna from RAF Binbrook at the gauard room in affiliation with His Church.We had a great few days operating GB8MAN from RAF Binbrook, with great support from the team who owns the site His Church. We had plenty of visitors on Saturday, with plenty of club members calling in to see what was happening. We had a good flow of the public nipping in to see what was going on in the army tent. 683 contacts have now been submitted to QRZ

Operation Chastise GB5DAM.

On Monday 17th May Steve M5ZZZ, Andy M0IYE and Stephen M5SJM operated GB5DAM a SES memorial station from the Club to remember all those who lost their lives during operation Chastise. Chastise was the code name for the now famous 617 SDQ raid on the Rurh Valley dams. We are not only remembering the brave RAF Aircrew Crew who died but also the German civilians and hundreds of forced labour from all over Europe. Fir Park Show 2019 GB5FPS

On the weekend of the 8th & 9th June the LSWC were once again at Fir Park for the Fir Park Show 2019. Using the call sign GB5FPS we were active on the usual HF and VHF / UHF bands. The weather reports this time were not the most favourable but we pressed on getting all the kit ready on the Wednesday before. The kit was collected from the shack on the Friday by Les, G1LQB, and taken over to Fir Park. GB5DAM Dambusters Memorial Station

We once again operated GB5DAM a station to remember the RAF aircrew, German civilians and POW’s killed during Operation Chastise, the now famous Dambusters raid. RAF 617 Squadrons raid on the Ruhr Dams, using the bouncing bomb invented by Barnes Wallis. We started operating at 21.20 the time the first wave of Lancaster Bomber took off from RAF Scampton, The first contact was Bob VP8LP in the Falkland Islands on 20m, then as is tradition we began the run on 40m which within 2 calls created a huge pile up ( thanks for the cluster spots!). Dambusters Special Event Station GB70DAM

On the 16/17th May 2013 the Lincoln Short Wave Club are operating a Special Event Station in memory of the Air Crew and German civilians killed during the now famous 617 Squadron’s raid on the great Ruhr dams of Germany. The station will be on RAF Scampton’s bomb dump which is where Barnes Wallis’s bouncing bomb would have been delivered on 16th May 1943. The station will start at 15.00 local time on 16th May 2013 and transmit through the night on 40 and 80 metres 3.617 MHz band conditions permitting.
